My garden progress so far

Just an update for those that are interested...

I didn't get to have all of the plants I would've liked to in the garden before the season started kicking in, but things are going well with what I have in there now. The only casualty being the cucumber plant, which never really survived the transplant successfully. Everything else seems to be mostly doing OK, I have a few photos on my blog page (not affiliated with House & Home, they are my own personal opinions! :))

How are everyone elses veggies/fruits getting on with all this glorious heat / humid / wet weather we're having (not great for us, but wonderful for our gardens ;))

It's too dangerous to plant a veggie garden in our backyard, with our two dogs running around. However, I've got some different herbs growing with the flowers in pots on the front porch (although I can't remember which ones are which!!), and I've got two cherry totamto plants growing in pots next to the garage door. They get full southern sun there, and seem to be quite happy :) They have tons of little green tomatoes, which I hope will turn into juicy red tomatoes soon :)

Thanks Phil.

No one else got veggie garden pics? Too hot for you out there? :D

Nice gardens there, itsjustme :-) I love homegrown produce.

Inglewood, that somewhat worries me - as I ate the broccoli I grew last year without doing that.. and sometimes would have some directly off the plant (raw, not cooked)

I'll have to make sure to get any critters out! :)

Just a hint: if your broccoli is "organic" you need to soak it in salted ice water when harvested to deworm it. You will see all of the nasties that come out of it. Then you can cook it.

And lastly the veggie patch. The lettuce was great! I'll do them again next year for sure. No more soggy lettuce leaves in a bag from the store!
The carrots, potatoes and cucumber are growing.
The green onions and sugar peas did not make it. Dry as a crisp. lol

The lettuces are now so tall they are falling over. I have tried to stake them, but they just keep on growing like Jack's beansatlk! I am afraid their time is up, and no more 'organic' lettuce for the rest of the summer :(

And as a bonus a pumpkin popped out amongst the carrots and is now taking over  Last year I tried to plant pumpkins, and not one came up. So this surprise is staying, even if it going to crawl all over the yard!

BUT NOW, it is so overgrown, I can't see what is what!
The coriander was a huge success, we had coriander in all our dishes for weeks. It is now seeding and flopping all over the bed. (We plan on harvesting the seeds to put in our curry in winter).
The tomatoes are doing great, should be red soon. The one on the right is so big now, it has two wire cages to support it.
The 2 strawberry plants have made about a hundred new plants, there just isn't enough space
Origanum, rosemary and basil doing well.

wow, Phil, your garden is so neat and everything is growing beautifully.
Mine on the other hand has become overgrown, and some veggies didn't make it.
This is my herb garden a month ago. All neat, each in their own little 'room'.
