im sure by now most of you are getting sick of seeing this house already :o
first i will start with my changes
the mirror is back in the living room ( didnt like it much in the dining area)
the iron work is in the eating area
two of the prints were sold to my sister, the third is hanging beside the kitchen pantry
i went out of town shopping on friday, and bought this lamp and pillow, love both of them.....i like the punch of color that the pillow adds but i need a throw on the chair for added color
anyone have pics of a throw blanket that you feel would look good on the chair....and color suggestions as i dont want everything to look intentional, if you know what i mean ;)
i could put the blanket on a xmas list :D
thank you once again

inglewood, yes i do hear you loud and clear  i also picture a cranberry color in the texture that Lasalle posted, beautiful! :clapping:
Arizona....the cushion came from winners too....and yes the one stripe is a cranberry color.....is that where you seen this pillow? the sofa actually doesnt really have much grey, its just on the monitor...
flowerpot...........yes i did paint this cabinet and each house is named after our girls....for example, Carols candy shop :)
Lasalle. i LOVE that blanket you posted! do i have to wait until xmas.... :D
Dustbunny.....i have also thought about gold as a color, the curtains are pretty much a gold color...and as for the patio doors, i watched a show the other day and they used these curtain panels with red poppies, i so LOVED them....
i dont know if anyone has heard this rule, not that i follow all the rules....but if you are going to inject color, there should be three things in the room in that accent color.....for example, cranberry in the pillow is one color, cranberry in the rug is the second and a throw blanket in cranberry is the third.

thank you ladies
Janetc: I repeat.....MATCH YOUR THROW TO A COLOUR OR 2 IN THE RUG OR YOUR WALL COLOUR  A combination of colours is okay as long as it goes with the rug or wall. NO rust colour!

Hi Janet,
Love your dining room. Did you craft the sweet house in
the corner?
Also the iron work looks super where it is.
Flowerpot
I like the idea of a deep cranberry throw or a beautiful textured cream colour one would be nice. Here is one from pottery barn which I think would look beautiful with your furniture. Great Christmas gift!
Or maybe goldish? Or the colour of your curtains?
Just thinking for colour in the DR, maybe you could hang some fabric behind the iron piece. Something big and long maybe with no pattern but a lot of texture or shine.
I know where you got that cushion from :D , if memory serves me they have a cranberry colour in them so I would look for a cranberry throw. I think that colour would look better than rust with your gray green living room set, it looks like that colour on my monitor anyway.
muranogirl...the shade came with the lamp and i bought it at winners...
joanna....yes they did leave us extra chain to lower the light (thank goodness) but just have to get around to lowering it :)
Mel...YOU STOP THAT!.....the lamp and pillow are staying....honestly they are :D i have figured out what will stay and what goes......if i feel iffy about something, than i know it wont last...however, no iffy feeling yet!
Girls.....the birdhouse CD cabinet is normally downstairs and yes it is a country looking piece....however, it was sort of thrown there for the moment as we really dont have a finished basement and i must be nice to it as it is very cherished by our girls because it was hand painted by mom and each house is personalized with thier names on it.....but i do understand what you are all saying....
Itsjustme.....i do not like the blinds....they are cheapies that we needed to put up in a hurry.....(unfortunate circumstances) as i really wasnt planning to put anything on the window......but one day, when i can take my time, they will be replaced by a curtain....as i really dont like them.
as for the ironwork....when i find the right piece (when im done xmas shopping :D ) it will be replaced with something that has color....i would still like to do a picture rail with 3 leaning pictures
okay many of you are saying a rust color throw.....is it okay that there isnt really rust in the area rug.....the colors in the rug are......wine or cranberry color, dark blue, lighter blue, mossy green, goldish and cream
thanks ladies

I really like the new lamp and pillow, but honestly figure you're gonna return them tomorrow....so I'm not gonna suggest any ideas on a coordinating throw...LMAO!!!!
Where the mirror is now is perfect. Pillow and lamp are perfect too. I'm sure you have a stack of throws by now from prev. decor decisions, lol. Try any of them.
The diningroom needs drapes to make the room more formal and inviting. I would take the vertical blinds down, but I realise it is a new house, so maybe you like them.
The wall with the ironwork is a big wall. You still need something there. Maybe one of your large paintings with two smaller ones on each side?
i like the idea of a rust coloured throw...kinda like the colour in your pillow...and move the side table over more...it looks too close to the chair...and yea the tall bird house shouldn't be there...you have more of a contemporary look going there
I love your new pillow and your lamp. The shade is great, where did you find it?
Your dining room wall art looks really nice with your light fixture. I'm not loving the wood ornament in the corner with your table and decor. It seems a little too country for the rest of the decor. JMO! I hope that's okay!
Pillow ....perfect!
Lamp.... perfect!
Good job Janet
As for the throw 2 choices: either pull a colour from your rug or match the paint colour of the wall.
Yep, lower your dining light fixture.
Your new pillow really hits the mark....couldn't be more perfect. I also like your new lamp with the darker base....again perfect!! As for a throw, how about a solid colour....rust, or red, or browns..... taken from either your rug or pillow.
I notice (I think) that you have some extra chain on your light fixture over your table. As it is now I think the fixture is way to high. Can you lower it to the traditional 30/35 inches above the table?
