I don't want to take a brand name here but my personal choice is white wine. i have tasted various types of wine and finally found one that really pleases me. So, white wine for me.

My favourite is Sterling Vinyards Napa Valley Merlot.

A most beautiful wine. A bit expensive but worth every dollar.

Moet and Chandon Brut Imperial Champagne is my absolute favorite. I always have it at home for family and friends.

I like sparkling wine. The most well known sparkling wine is that of Champagne from the Champagne wine region of France. On average, Champagne is responsible for about 8% of worldwide sparkling wine production with many other regions emulating the "Champagne style" in both grapes used and production methods--sometimes referred to as the "Champagne method".

The hot thing around here these days is Fuzion from Argentina. Toronto LCBO stores can't keep it on the shelves and people buy it by the case 5 minutes after it lands in the store. It's got a spicy taste, and has received very good ratings from the pros. And its $7.95!

I know, I kept reading about it so I bought two bottles, the cheap one and the more expensive one, around $13.00. The cheap one was not drinkable IMHO but the more expensive one was not bad.
I have been drinking a lot of great wines from Portugal these days as well as a Spanish wine, Temprani/Shiraz El Miracle that we found recently. I am tired of the Australian wines but have enjoyed them in the past. Now I head straight for the specialty wines selection and search for smaller and lesser known vineyards in my price range and I am often pleasantly surprised.

I'm a red drinker and generally go for Masi from Italy or Lindeman's Bin 50 Shiraz from Australia. The hot thing around here these days is Fuzion from Argentina. When I want to treat myself (which is all the time) the Rosemont Shiraz is what I buy. If I want to drink in quantity and not be hung the next day. I drink California Carlo Rossi, its a srew top but it is faboulous.

In White I drink San Margarita Pinot Grigio, once again a bit pricey but excellent white wine.

Damasco

A subtle blend of four varieties and a unique vinification gives Damasco its fruity bouquet and rich 'mouthfeel' with a slight effervescence. Light and fresh, it makes a perfect appetizer or sipping wine, but is also very suited to Asian or light west coast foods.

From their website.

I love this light crisp wine. It has a slight fizz and is great really cold on a hot day.

Vigneti Zanatta was the first winery to be developed in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. They have a nice sparkling wine too:

Glenora Fantasia Brut

Made in the traditional method, this sparkling wine has been aged on the lees for a minimum of 3 years. We use 100% Cayuga grapes, gently pressed immediately upon harvest to produce this very unique sparkling wine. The result is a bouquet of green apples carried through in the small persistent bubbles.

NAYY but a happy customer.

My all time favourite is Kenwood Cabernet (1998) from the Sonoma Valley. Very smooth and a bit pricey. I do like Yellow label as well.
