I agree with SusanB that I find i am really bothered by it as well! i haven't even seen her in anything recently.
This tragic incident has given Mont Tremblant in Quebec worldwide coverage.
Since the beginning of this week it is a media frenzy.
The media outlets are looking and on the hunt for pictures. No one has come forward with pics of Richardson and her son at the resort. Media outlets have even been to the hospital waving large promises of cash to those who might have pics or willing to give info.
Today in this electronic age, it is very important to the press who 'gets' what first.
The luxury hotel refused entry to ABC & GMA looking for info.
The instructor is very distraught and has not been seen around the village since the incident.
Richardson was offered a helmet but refused.
Tremblant employees have been clearly advised not to speak to reporters or comment on the incident.
One ski instructor did speak out described the snow conditions on that afternoon as soft spring snow similar to mashed potatoes which made it very easy to trip.
A really devastating shock at how a simple skiing accident could have such tragic consequences.
I was impressed at how tight they kept any press leaks. It was odd not knowing what was going on, very mysterious since celebrity news is so common and expected these days. Look at how many people were there when Britney Spears had to be hospitalized.
It must be awful for the remaining family members, such an uexpected shock. She seemed like such a genuine person, I hope she didn't suffer.
I'd be surprised if Tremblant got bad press as a result of this - it was just a terrible unfortunate accident. For some reason, I'm so bothered by it. She was on Top Chef recently - hosting a dinner, and she seemed like such a vibrant attractive person. Really sad for everyone.
mount tremblant will get some bad press. too bad for everyone involved...
Autopsy said brain trauma due to fall caused death.
Very sad
This really does seem like a bit of a freak accident type thing. I hope they release the autopsy information so we know what happened (since there seems to be some speculation aboutwhat happened). A helmet may or may not have helped but it's a good warning for people not to take them lightly. Back in the olden days I remember falling skiing and actually seeing stars (just like in cartoons) for about an hour after so it doesn't take much.
When a family member had a brain hemorrhage I had to spend some time visiting a neurology ward and since then it always amazes me what brains can and can't take. All I can say is never underestimate what a slap on the head can do or what can happen years after hitting your head.
Such a sad story! My heart goes out to her family.
I hope the media leaves them alone to grieve in private.
Have been to Tremblant as well. Really is beautiful and great skiing.
I guess you never know when such a simple 'accident can turn tragic.
Maybe a lesson for all to be on the safe side and wear helmets.
I have been there many times. The story I heard though was she was at the bottom of the hill on the "bunny" part. Did not run into anything....so it looks like she could have fallen anywhere and had the same result.
Really sad story.
