for plants in a small birdhouse planter that will sit on a deck and therefore will not have sun?? Lobelia, diaschia (sp) . The pots are not big so really just the filler type of plants would be effective, TIA

We can't say this often enough! You can mix white and purple and orange, for example, and really have a colourful display in your shady spot. I seem to recall that lobelia need sun, I am not so sure they will work in your spot.

the ones that come to mind first are IMPATIENS..they come in all colours and looooove the shade
....u will need to water them often tho...they come in lots of colours too...good luck
