Thanks ...I'm going to buy one today and try it. I'm worried about the washing part of it.
I'll let you know how I made out~
I prefer a synthetic duvet that is washable. You still have to take into consideration the number and type of baffles as the filling can move about if it isn't a good quality. Sorry, I can't expand on this as it has been so many years since I bought mine. Maybe someone can expand on this.
Could you just purchase one and give it a try.
One nuisance with mine is that a polyester cover on top of the polyester duvet causes it to slip down into the cover.
DBD - I so agree with you about the temperature and the cover being too hot at this time of year. I wish there was one that wasn't too warm. I've tried some that advertise as spring weight. Even they didn't work. It means I have to switch to a plain blanket for almost 1/2 of the year.
I can't speak to any particular brand but this winter I bought a synthetic 'feather alternative' throw from Costco. I have a real feather throw and always thought it was nice and cozy but that Costco one is probably 3 times warmer with less weight (it's actually very thin by comparison). I actually used it on my bed, over my feather duvet this winter and with my window open and the usual temp about 60 in that room I was still too hot (I like a cool room but that was cooler than normal for me). So if that one is typical, they would be very good for staying warm and they would have less bulk than feather (which makes washing etc. much easier). I would imagine they are way too warm for late spring, summer. Even though Calgary is just losing it's snow and is cold at night I am finding it too warm so back to just my feather duvet now.
Hi Pearl G...On the packaging it said alternative...It's synthetic (polyester). I think that's the term they use.
Thanks
