New paint - What a difference!

I just had to let you all know how much I love my new paint!

I cannot believe what a difference paint can make in the feel of a room!

My husband & I bought a new townhouse last year, and it was painted a greyish-olive colour. Not bad, but very cold - we just weren't happy with it. (Not to mention the crappy quality of it - contractor grade. You'd breathe on it and it would mark!)

So we just repainted our whole main floor in warm shades (BM - Maple syrup in the family & kitchen & Baffin Island in the living & dining). They look great together, and it is so warm & cosy now!

Anyhow...just had to share my excitement!

Now on to upstairs....

It is quite similar - I'm just comparing the 2 in my fandeck.

Maple syrup looks a shade or 2 darker than Roxbury Caramel. I remember from a previous post, you felt yours might be too peachy? I don't find Maple Syrup peachy at all.

Hi Danny,

Thanks! Maple Syrup is by Benjamin Moore - CC-420

I really love it, although it is really more of a cinnamon colour than maple syrup. I find it warm during the day, but not too dark, and at night, it's rich and very cozy.

Paula, your home is beautiful. You've made all the right selections, and you have such great colour taste. I love the maple syrup colour. It's very rich. The way I like it :-)

Great pics. I enjoyed the tour.

Thanks Jane!

The tiles are what came with our house when we bought from the builder last year. I didn't have a choice in them, but I have to say, I think I would have chosen them anyhow....I really like them.

They are 6" tiles - ceramic I think, but look like tumbled marble. Here & there, are groups of 9-2" tiles throughout the backsplash.

They main tiles are olivey-green, and the small ones vary in colour from a bone colour to creamy beige.

I really like my white appliances. I know many people have black or stainless now, but I love the clean look of white.

The counters are actually just plain old laminate, but the pattern is similar to granite. It's sort of an olive green shade.

My cabinets are a medium shade of maple

I don't have anymore kitchen pictures right now, but I'll try to get some.

P.S. I have 3 Eiffel towers. I have a bit of a Paris obsession since I was there a year and a half ago! ;)
