New sod -what to do?

Hi all. We had the lawn in our back yard replaced with new sod about a month ago. It is growing wonderfully! I am wondering if I should be fertilizing it before the snow flies. Does anyone know?

I just posted a reply and saw it was from the 10th. I think your snow came a little later?? :( Do not worry about fertilizing. Generally, a granular starter fertilizer is added to the soil prior to laying the sod...just keep watering or "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" :D That was sung, by the way.

I really don't mean to rub it in, but ahem, in light of recent developments, may I assume the worst?

when our new sod was laid in the fall, they told us NOT to fertilize as it had already been done before they cut the sod...by spring, it was lovely and thick and green

I don't think this is the time for fertilizer but call a garden nursery and ask them. I think water well so it all gets established is all it needs before it freezes.
