The Newf forum I am on has asked us to cross post this information to do our best to reunite this Newf and its family. I know there are many dog lovers here, and hope you will cross post this to the other forums you are on.
Hopefully, with our help, it will be a happy holiday for this family.

Oh, that's so sad :( Losing a pet is SO hard :(
The one positive thing is that her owners did find her, so at least they have closure. Lots of heartbreak though too, I'm sure.
This was just posted on the Newf forum, and I wanted to keep those of you who were praying for Marlee up to date. Thanks for posting this or sharing it with friends/family in the east. I wish it was better news.

Subject: Marlee found
Hi France:
I have some news....we just brought Marlee back home, however, not the way we had hoped. Marlee died. She was found today in the ditch without her collar on. Now we are all just trying to deal with this loss....there's been lost of tears tonite....she'll be missed by so many...she was so sweet and she'll never be forgoten.
France, thank you so much for everything you have done...you have gone above and beyond in your effort to find her. So many people have been so supported in the search for her....I really thought the ending was going to be different.
gratefully,
Krista
What a beautiful dog..................hope she is safe and comes home for Christmas...
It would be forums could help find a missing pet. Maybe the six degrees of separation theory will work. Let's hope so. Pets are so important to us.
Oh the poor family. The same thing has happened to my dog and her collar but luckily she didn't go far. They must be so worried. I hope she makes a safe return and soon!
