No luck shopping to-day

: My DH went to the Ottawa & Toronto hockey game in Ottawa with some buddies........So my GF( a wife of one of the fellas who also went to the game) & I went for lunch and shopping. We spent most of our day at Winners(,unfortunately we don't have a H omsense) I actually came out of there empty handed. I tried on a bunch of outfits but nothing seemed to look any good.I think it is the new cropped maternity look styles which I think are really cute except on me,I'm too tall for that style.Oh well! I'm sure I'll find something that I like later on. I saw alot of nice stuff for the house but I just find unless you are doing a complete changeover adding more stuff doesn't work. I envy you new homowners as it is so much fun decorating on a clean slate. :)

I am going to do some major purging because I also wear only 10% of what is in my closet....it will soon be time to haul out the summer outfits.....I hope they still fit :D

janet, I love your new comforter, and it sounds like it will match all the accessories you have already bought.

Arizona, if I could have found ANYTHING that colour that fit me when I was shoppoing last week, I think I would have bought 3 of each - I love it, and am just dieing for something with some colour in it this spring ....

Janet your new comforter is really nice, anxious to see it on the bed...that is great your DD likes the brown one. You remind me of myself ..can't resist a good deal.I have a bed set Ibought of Sears .ca outlet for $26.00 regular $100.00.It is still in the bag until I decide what room to put it in. :)

OK, I guess it didn't take much to convince me to keep it with only 2 people telling me to :) I will impose a modified rule of removing 5 items in favour of the new one. preferably of the same type so off I go and see how I do. I'd really like to be able to fit my clothes into one of those closets from the 50's but I'm not sure how realistic that is in the 21st Century.

Arizona; I love that colour, it goes with alot of other colours , it is very classic & London Fog is a good quality product.& it is a good length. It would look nice with a multi coloured scarf.
.I think it is the type of coat you will wear often,it will look great with jeans or dress pants.I say keep it. :)

It happens to me all the time when I need something and know exactly what I want but can never find it in the stores. It led me to doing a lot more Internet shopping.
I can relate to the maternity style tops that are popular now too. They are so unflattering on everyone who isn't pregnant. I cringe when I see Marilyn Dennis wear them on Cityline. Otherwise she seems to have good taste in clothing.
Sweetpea, the Winners stores seem to have a good stock on those crystal lamps so if the ones you saw are gone you can be sure they will get other styles in.
Janetc, sometimes it's good to cut your losses and aknowledge you can't work with a particular item and just replace it.
Here is my recent purchase I am hemming and hawing over whether to keep it or not. I love the colour and it suits me but I worry it is too trendy a colour and I'll grow sick of it. It was a good buy for $44, it's London Fog brand. I am trying to make do with less regarding clothing considering I only wear about 10% of my wardrobe on a regular basis so I don't exactly need this new coat.

as much as i loved the feel of the brown comforter, it was hard for me to pull the room together with it......i didnt care for the shams that went with it and tried a zillion other ones and nothing worked.....so when i seen this comforter yesterday i couldnt help myself ;) .....and it helped because dh really liked it....its different but i do like it and the dark brown one isnt wasted as oldest dd has it on her bed and loves it....she plans to accent it with some funky colors. It is pricey doing room makeovers, thats why i look for the deals, alot more work but thats okay......Sweetpea, sometimes just changing a few things out can give the room a whole new feel.....even try this in your living room.

Janinvan......here is the color and pattern on the comforter.....i have promised myself not to post the bedroom AGAIN...until its done and im happy with it.....the background color is a beige/grey.....accents of off white, cream and chocolate brown..... its pretty neutral, and i will add a pop of color

Janet; I'm glad to hear you found some white pillows for the bed...... & a new comforter...Pics please
I think I'm going to redo a room ....I would love to redo our livingroom but sooooo.....expensive....maybe one of the bedrooms would be better....our bedroom could use a facelift....I'll put my thinking cap on & get out the decorating mags... :) I saw these absolutely beautiful crystal lamps at Winners .....should have bought them for inspiration because they'll probably be gone the next time I go back.

JANET!!! Don't tease. Where are the pics of the new items.

Sweetpea - doesn't it seem when you have money and want to buy that you never find anything. Now, if you were on a budget then everything would be just want you want.

i so find that discouraging when you put away a bit of money to have a shopping day and you come home with nothing..............we went away for part of the day shopping and i should have come home empty handed...... :o but i was bad......shhhh i just happened across a comforter and two soft plush off white pillows to go on the bed....so bad me!
