I have a feeling that you have a great garden to go with your obviously evergreen thumb. How about some pictures?

Thanks for your kind words about my fair city. We do have a long winter here, but I have always lived here so it is no surprise to me to see snow in November!

Kananaskis is a big park, but I do not know how large it is, sorry. There are hotels (your partner must be going to the conference centre for his meetings) and many campgrounds. There are great hiking trails and intrepretive facilities. It will make you love your country more, it is so beautiful!

You will not find much in the way of shopping there, but Canmore is nearby and the main street of Canmore has quite a few quaint shops and nice restaurants. Banff is only 20 minutes from Canmore and has tons of nice shops and restaurants, but also TONS of people! Where ever you are in the area, you only need to look up for a breath taking view of the mountains!

I am sure you will really enjoy your visit and will wish it was longer!

I could see mountains, but I am in Edmonton, so, alas, cannot. I can drive west for an hour and a half or so and start to see some peaks...

I feel lucky to live near enough to the mountains to be able to see them often. You are right, they are spectacular and Kannanaskis is BEAUTIFUL. My partner's brother lives in Canmore and, so far, it is still somewhat reasonable to stay there, in the midst of the mountains with Kannanaskis and Banff only a heart beat away. We happily visit that brother often, and not just because he and his wife are so charming!

I know you are going to enjoy your trip. If you want to know where to go to get good coffee or where to shop, etc...while in the area, just ask.

would reasonably expect the rest of us to have blooms like Lisi! I do the best I can here in Zone 3/4. And none of us hold misspellings against each other (it is a decorating forum, not your thesis!). So, now that you have the size thing figured out, clean up your mess and get snapping!

Maybe I should ask more nicely. Please. Pretty please.
