My husband (small business accountant with a few clients visiting) is moving in to a new office and wants something different this time. It's medium sized, mostly square with a medium to small window and flourescent lighting. It will have a darkish blue wall to wall carpet. The ceiling will be quite high and (yuch) acoustic tile. There is no trim around the window.
He is tired of "cool" offices - doesn't want to go with white, light blue or grey. I wondered about burgundy walls, and black file cabinets. (he can get paint for current beige ones). We could probably find 2nd hand wood ones if the black isn't going to work. (ouch - big $) I thought with a reddish burgundy wall he could go with oak for a table or desk, and try for a "english library" type of look. He will need other lighting and I thought brass/old fashioned looking?
Suggestions? Will it look too dark? Is there another colour to think about before we get set on this one?
