If you put enough liquor in that espresso, it will stay nice and smooth - and keep you warm too!!!!

if you are in Espresso Heaven is it safe to say that it is more a Frappuccino than an actual espresso?? Frozen and Slushy??

no house in the YT is without one...lol we use it to heat up the oil pan and engine block...even though a block heater will keep the block warm, it doesn't warm the oil pans and at -40, it will freeze...car will start but after about a km, the engine will seize...no oil...
Shiraz doesn't get much seal (haven't seen one of those in our backyard lake!!), but he does get a lot of salmon!!! He's been begging relax in the snow on the deck all day!!
As for bbqs, I didn't know what temp it was when it stopped working - good to know!!! We are excited because when we get the new furnace in January, they are running a propane line to the bbq, so no more tanks, and hopefully, better grilling in the depths of winter!!!
Now, being new to the north (of this province, at least - we can't compete with the yukon!) I have NO IDEA what a tiger torch is. Enlighten me!!!
it was -28 this morning at 0500 when I had my beasties out.
Hubby loves to point out that because I'm from the Yukon I should be used to this weather....HAHA! In the YT if it's -30 no one is nuts enough to go outside...because everything is frozen...even your tires are square...however have to give credit to the hardy yukoners... we don't close the schools until it hits -50...lol And yup, you're right about newfs.. hubby is one and never seems to feel the cold (must be all that seal flipper pie he ate when he was a kid.. lol).
Tell your hubby that if he insists on living in northern Ontario he should have the sense to invest in a tiger torch to start his car... lol
Here's an intersting factoid...did you know that propane turns to liquid at exactly -38c? So the moral of this is...always check the temp before turning on your BBQ....lol
How cold is it in Ottawa, bbyrne??? This morning when I took Shiraz outside, it was -36. Dh's new car took some convincing to start (the block heater is being installed at Christmas). Despite this, Shiraz still thinks that hanging out on the deck enjoying the weather is a GREAT thing!!! When they say newfs like the cold, they aren't kidding!! I, on the other hand, am staying inside!

It is snowing! Well downtown Calgary it is snowing!
all I want to know is who turned on the deep freeze up here in the nation's capital...even my dogs are doing turbo pees to get inside faster...lol
Today I drove to Banff and all of us felt more like it must be September than 2 weeks before Christmas. Barely any snow even right in the mountains, no need for gloves, a bit of slush in the alleys. Roads completely dry and clear of snow.
This is not what Banff normally looks like this time of year.
I love this kind of winter.
To clear blue skies and sunshine and green grass. Sorry but this is only my second winter away from snow so i still have to gloat about it.
Holy crap!!! Is it still like that? Your one lucky gal! I gew up outside of Calgary and I miss it terribly! Just to have space and not hear your neibours or cars go bye.. I miss my small town...
Love the pictures!!!!!!!
that's my view from my front door oreo
Ya Calgary is a big mud ball right now.... SOB.. Kidding I am scared of driving in the snow...
Love the pictures!!!!!!!
For ONCE an Albertan can gloat a little....our snow is melting!
We got 15cm and more on its way :(
hey Red...those are the tips of my trees...LOL...just kidding
i love snowball fights but i have a habit of making my kids cry when we have snowball fights.... :D ....and my pond is frozen...yeahhhhh.....skating soon....
It's finally stopped coming down up here (10 min south of Wasaga Beach). I'm not sure how much we got this morning , I'd say close to- if not more than- 15cm. I now have a foot of snow on my patio table! I'm sure it will get cleared off by the kids this afternoon (snowballs), it was cleared off pretty quickly last week when we had a snow day. Too bad it isn't packing snow my littlest guy (3) really wants me to build his first snowman with him :D Gotta love living in the snowbelt!
Happy shoveling!
12cm or so here... but it is finally stopped and the sunshine is bright and blinding... Now, to shovel or not to shovel... apparently 5cm more to come
I woke up with about 11 cm my self, than god for underground parking at the condo!
have more snow than your trees in them!!!! We have about 10.5 cm downtown...
