OK

you are great with that program. thank you again. this really gives me some ideas.
France, glad you liked it. Is this the red you had in mind?
Deborah, I use an image-editing software called Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
you have opened up a can of worms now! thanks for those mock ups. those jars are interesting not my style but nice still the same. i really like the look of the textured vase you so kindly inserted on the table. i wonder if it is available in red?! (hint hint) hee hee.
thanks again so much!
I think something with texture would be nice on your table because the table itself and the chairs are very smooth already. I was thinking some sort of sculptural wicker basket, a sculpted wooden vase or bowl....just something to add texture and to also pick up on the earthiness of your existing sisal rug and wicker baskets. I mocked it up because I just had to see what it looked like.
I like the tall apothecary jar (I have the same one and it's travelled to every room in my house looking for the perfect location!) but I think it's too large and too tall for that particular location. On a much smaller scale but similar idea I was thinking a few glass/crystal candy jars, such as the ones in this mock up.
Marma, could you tell me how you do the mock up pictures.
Is it a program you have to put on your computer?
Please, please let me know.
Thanks, would be greatly appreciated. :)

i think you have got it.....perfect scale on the shelf as well as the table...after seeing your mock up i would agree the glass vase was too tall...lovely job

Where can one purchase that ornament on the breakfast table above France, if you don't mind telling?
cheers
You're exactly right Obella...Marma may be a little overworked once all the gals/guys round here take a looksy at this. Wicked job with the mock-up.

Have you been hiding a priceless hidden talent all along????
You might have to go into hiding soon...........
great job
as does the rest of your house!

First off, I've always loved your home and look forward to seeing new pics all the time. I may be way off here, but my spidey senses are saying to place the unexpected on the table. By that, I'm thinking one would expect a bowl, a tray but one perhaps would not be expecting to see a sculpture, or a really ornate, antique silver teapot and sugar/creamer set on a modern style tray in a popping colour.
i will keep my eye out for something of colour ...red, acid green :D for that charger.
and something else for the glass jar?
cool idea with the dried lentil beans, maybe i can do layers of colour in that jar! hmmm....thinking
France, thats one good lookin' room you have there.
Yes, I do agree with everyone that you need color on the table in the bowl.
You have great taste and eye. Can just imagine what the rest of your home looks like.
Keep it up.

I agree that it needs more colour. Do you have any pretty glass xmas balls? You could put 1 or 2 in the bowl (hook side hidden), if you have various colours you can play with them a bit, until you find the colour (s) that you like. That way when you go shopping you'll know what to (or not to) get.
how would it look if you put back the red vase into the bowl that's there now?or if you had a red bowl with a small floral arrangement into it.
better, the candles are not competing with your lamps and with a little color i think that will be perfect

Are you talking about the glass piece on the shelf? Adding colour to it I mean.
You could try different colours if you used some food dye and water to see what strikes your fancy the most that way without a big investement.
the way it is. I do think a little more red needs to be added in the room, either in the bowl or somewhere else. Maybe a throw on the slipper chair.
If you wanted to add some colour, could you add some coloured beans (like a kidney bean or lentil... dry of course) to fill the bottom of the bowl with the balls on top. I have some glass wall sconces that I half filled with coffee beans, then added tea lights to the top. If you go to a bulk food store you might get inspired!
I have a basket of various balls. Some of them are balls covered in various coloured seeds... ie. there is a red seeded, a green seeded and an orange seeded ball. Can't remember where I got them, but you could likely make something like that.
Filling up the glass canister about 3/4 of the way with some decorative element - pine cones seem too obvious - maybe shelled nuts? (you could always eat them if you got tired of the look) or feathers or something meaningful to you.
of course it looks real. thanks i'll add bou clair to my list of stops. i'm sure i could trim the grass to get the right shape/height?
ha ha Jen!!!....I have a habit of doing that....
France,
not always the greatest fan of fake plants..but there are some grasses (already potted), that look quite good.
I got this one at Bou Clair....I painted the container white..didn't like what it was...and of course it isn't the right shape for you, but you get the idea... it doesn't look too fake, does it?...
i still have to tweek things with colour... thanks for the feedback...even on the shelf! i seem to be stuck for some reason with this one.
obella i like the idea of something rectangular on the shelf with grasses i just have to make sure my grass eating dog doesn't sniff it out!
Looks good!! Just add more colour, and you'll be there :)
hey you!!!....she asked about the bowl on the table....not the wall shelf...LOL... ;)
you asked, right?
I think it is very nice......I also think as an alternative, a red flat dish with granny smith apples
On your wall shelf, I think a long rectanglar dish with short grass would look great.
When it is accessories, it's nice as nothing has to be permanent.
Nice room France!!
I think the bowl looks great France..I think maybe some more colour might be nice tho. Maybe some red accessories or somehting simillar? The bowl you should definitely keep..for sure. I wonder could you find some red coloured glass balls? I haven't actually seen any...LOL..but I can picture it in my head.
:) Mel
that looks good i like it...but (don't ya love when ppl say that..he he) what if you added something in there that is the colour of your wall?...just a thought
