I'm just jumping into this now, but Jenjen, I was pretty sure that we established that DH doesn't get an opinion after the garage floor incident!!!

Really that is my answer to whinning, over exagerated owies (sp?), and anything they don't like. It may take a while, but eventually he'll get the idea :D

What you can do with the tab tops, is fold them over behind the curtain, and sew into place, and then you push the rod through the new gap that is created. This way you get a kind of pleated finish like BB Bagoons does with their drapes. Need a diagram?

Wow, what a neat idea...wish I thought of that before I cut the tabs on my kitchen curtains :hairpull: , anyway, for next time

if you leave the red stripped ones up for a week and maybe they will grow on him. Sometimes it works - and if you have company that say how nice they look and how much they like them, he may actually start to come around. But you have to live with him - and the curtains. None of them look bad, it's just that the red/burgundy looks better. Good luck and let us know what the final decision is.

oh, thank you, thank you, bow, bow, bow :D
Now you won't be afraid to buy tab top anymore!

ya if i do raise them up....they will be too short...top of the window to the floor is exactly 84''...and so are the panels.....back to square one i think....

For some reason in the pictures it looks like your walls have a touch of yellow to them while all yor accessories have a taupe base with a reddish hue. Is it just the monitor. JMO, but I think the neutrals in your room should be roughly the same hue. You could do a red and gold strip instead of a red and taupe. You are definitly on the right track though and I think it will look wonderful. :D

I know this is kind of late to pipe in but I agree with Mrs Modern. Also, unless those curtains have a huge hem on them, I think they will be far too short after raising them so the window trim doesn't show. I'd look for some curtains in a red and gold stripe like Mrs Modern described but no tabtops.

Go for it girl :) I have to try that approach next time :D

I understand your problem and sympathize with you....go get those curtains back and make a deal with him that if he doesn't like them after a week or so, you'll change them....trust me....he will get used to the colour...

The reds do suit your area better ;)

i hate it when he thinks he has an opinion...turd!!!....i let him get the sectional he wanted...sheeesh....the least he could do is stay out of my curtains... :D

Go back and get the curtains with the red stripes!! They look SOOOOO much better!!!!!! They really make an impact in your room and go so well with your other colours and decor.

Marriage is about compromise. But in this case, forget compromise!! Get those curtains back!!!!

But if you REALLY don't want to rock the boat, try to find a more subdued fabric that has that same great red colour.

Jen the red ones looked soooo much nicer. You have such beautiful wood in your home. The red ones made the wood trim look even beter than before :D

here look at the difference, see how much richer the wood looks

You may as well return the green ones and have nothing but your blinds up there. The green ones are too blah.
