omega 3

I am just wondering if anyone has any info on omega 3's. I have terrible excema and dry skin and dry eyes and I have heard that adding omega 3's to your diet can fix various imbalances in your system that might be causing these.

Friends have said to eat ground flaxseed and fish but I have never liked the taste of seafood. It seems the info I have read says that salmon oil supplements are the best but I don't know what brand is the best...I guess their are some brands that are not worth the money. Any advice??

TIA!

I am still looking for a "good" brand of omega 3's to buy but I am commited to trying this to see if it will help with my excema and skin allergies. Thanks for all the positive feedback!

I am also going to try to cut down on the detergents and cleaners in the house.

That info kind of scared me! I use Lysol all the time...I bet I use it daily somewhere in our house!

I take flax seed oil in a gelatin capsule each day. Swallow it whole and you never taste it. It lowers bad cholesterol as well as help with the skin.

cod liver oil is the way to go! We drink it like milk from toddler stage. I actually saw it at Superstore just the other day!
If that fails, the Gov't pays for a transfer to the Spanish isles. Really!

Thanks redheron. It is good to hear a success story as I have to find something that will help. I think my 3 year old is starting to show allergy signs so I want to find out what is the appropriate amount of fish oil supplement for her age group. Thanks!

My husband is stopping at costco so he said he will ask the pharmacist there. I had also read that about there being mercury in the fish oil supplements and to look for one that is certified refined. The excema is the worst on my fingers too. I was told it is called Dyshidrotic (spelling?) excema. I have had excema problems and skin allergies for years but the hand one is the worst and I have had it for over 3 years now. I hope that the omega 3's will help. I will keep you posted. :)
