Hi, I purchased this mirror, (or should I say stole) for only $24.99! I loved the frame, not such a fan of the gold in my space though. I am not sure that it works in this space, may have to find it a new home. What color should I paint it? I am leaning towards black.

you only got this for about $25????? WHERE?? lol
you found one awesome deal, i do agree with hanging it the opposite way and i also think the mirror looks great just the way it is. :clapping: Another question, where did you find those pillows? love them! they have all my living room colors

I agree with the others, hang the other way. I don't like the idea of painting it dark because I think the ornateness (?) will be lost. What colour are your other metals? It would look awesome in silver but it still looks pretty good as is and I detest yellow metals ;)
Where did you find this amazing buy? Our favourite store?
Thanks for the tips! I think I will try to leave some gold peaking through, and just brush on some color. If I have a girl one day, I think it would be nice in a nursery painted pink too! Also, I never considered hanging it landscape, but it totally makes more sense to place it that way.
I definitely think hanging it the other way will make it fit the room much better. As for paint I am partial to black but perhaps you should try some of the other suggestions first, you can always do black last.
Great deal !It looks like it came from a very magnificent estate home...I think if you toned it down down with a brown colour & hung it side ways like DBD suggested it would fit in your livingroom very nicely.:)
You're right, you did steal it. Great price, no contest. I have one a bit larger I thought was a steal at $150 so you did extremely well. Personally I like that kind of style but if you find the gold too much you should try some Rub 'n buff on it. It's a tubed coloured wax you can get in various colours in most places like Michaels. The nice part is it's easy to use (you can use a brush but I find my finger works really well when I've used it on things like that) and if you don't like it, you can take it off. So you don' t have to cover it all, but can tone it down some, or a lot, without worrying about it much. They say gold and ornate is coming back so you may not want to lose all the gold.
When you hang it, don't forget to consider it going sideways/landscape.
I forgot to mention, I haven't actually committed to hanging it yet, in case it doesn't stay.
