I just wanted to share what I spent the weekend working on. It's far from done, but it's starting to come together. I still need to finish some of the tile, grout, and seal it all. Excuse the tape and the missing outlet covers (I want to find stainless ones now...) We chose Indian slate in 12x12 tiles and I cut it all into 6x6s - it was tricky - but worth the work for the look and cost savings. Not bad for a first attempt, if I do say so myself... :)

What a wonderful transformation! I love everything about it! Awesome job! :clapping:
LOOK GREAT!!! You did a great job in picking out your blacksplash as well!!!! :applaud:
EXCELLENT choice in backsplash tiles!
Your backsplash really has added that professional touch. What colour were your original cabinets - I like the new colour. Everything is working.
Very nice............keep plugging away...you are almost done............. :clapping:
Thanks for the colour name. I have my heart set on white when I paint my cabinets, but I won't know if that's a good plan until at least a white primer is up and I get a feel for white in there. In the meantime, I'm keeping my eye out for other colour inspiration, just in case!
i love the look of painted cabinets...great job..its a brand new kitchen. :)
Thanks for the complements everyone! Now I just have to finish....sigh... :)
Yes, we painted the cupboards when we moved in about a year ago. It was a huge job, but very worthwhile. The colour is BM Stardust - in alkyd eggshell. We started with the satin finish and found it too shiney,
I just realized those must be the cabinets you mentioned you painted in another thread. Do you remember the colour? Sure looks great!
Wow, did that ever turn out nice! I think it's the perfect choice. Beautifully done!
Great job and very brave to be cutting all those tiles.
What type of cutter did you use?
That looks absolutely gorgeous! While your kitchen looked great before, the tiles really give it some "oomph". Very nice!
beautiful and you should be extremely proud of your work....the backsplash looks devine! :clapping: as does your whole kitchen!

Your backsplash is beautiful!! Awesome job!! :clapping:
You can buy stainless steel switch plate covers at Home Depot. Or, you can pick up a can of spray paint (like Treclad) and paint the ones that you already have. I spray painted these covers in the guest bathroom.....
that is beautiful, well done. I really like your choice. :)
