Hi, sarah087! I agree with Northern Miner — if you head to your local garden centre you can see all the annuals and perennials available. They often have annuals in packs of six or eight that can easily be potted in a planter. Be sure to read the plant info card to see how much sun is required for the plant to thrive. Every year I plant petunias in pots and they always flourish without much fussing over them — you don't need much, either. One six-pack would fill one-to-two pots. Hope that helps! —S

Geraniums are great  because they come in various bright colours and are rather trouble-free.  African Daisies come in many colours also and enjoy full sun.

A mix of different flowers in a planter can be nice so there is always something in bloom, and if you go that route check out the 'basket fillers' section where small, often trailing bits are found.  Bacopa with white flowers is a rather good one to consider.

Head to your nearest garden centre and choose the colours you want. It's your colour that matters and what makes you happy. At the garden centre you can buy flats on annuals in a huge variety of kinds and colours. Go crazy and have fun.Wink
