I have a medium & dark brown plank kitchen floor and black /brown/grey countertop with white cupboards, I am trying to find a paint color that goes. The kitchen is open to dining room, living room, halls and stairway, so the paint has to be a light tone. We were thinking of a darker color in the kitchen and doing a feature wall in living room but we can't seem to pick a color we agree on. We're looking at beige and tan tones but are open to any color. I purchased a Benjamin Moore Sisal but it is too dark and doesn't look good so I need to go with a lighter color. Any suggestions

Hello nbochon,
If you're looking for lighter paint colours, try Lynda Reeves' list of her favourite white paints:

Or read up on Tan Wall Colours (http://houseandhome.com/design/tan-wall-colours) or our Editors' Favourite Paint Colours (http://houseandhome.com/design/photo-gallery-editors-favourite-paint-col...).
Good luck with the kitchen!

Color is a very personal choice as we all see it differently, if you are looking for a fairly light neutral have a look at BM Revere Pewter. It is a very well used color but it pretty much goes with anything, we just did our living room, entrance and bathroom in it. I wouldn't say its a true grey but more like a greige. It would also be a easy color to add in a feature wall in another color.
All the best
