paint that goes with wood floor color

I'm stuck and need help!!! I have a light oak hardwood flooring and am looking for a paint color that will work with it. I was looking at Benjamin Moore HC-82 bennington gray cachemire (a medium greeny brown?) before I remembered that I needed to make sure it went with my flooring. Now I'm confused. If I have light flooring do I need to have light wall colors??? Is this color too dark and it will overpower the floors??? If anyone has any thoughts, please, please let me know. (i was supposed to have the paint chosen for this afternoon - oops!)
Thanks.
Carrie

You would probably have more luck if you posted in Decorating and Design as that is where you'll find the members most of the time.

If you have light floors I think a darker wall colour would be nice for some contrast. The colour you've chosen sounds really nice. Of course it would also depend on the colour of your furniture and things like that as well. Pictures also help alot to get a visual of what the room is like.

Good luck!
