yes...u can paint on cork boards. i painted on the big coasters for the dining table....they turned out good. actually i stenciledon them(much easier). i used acrylic paint...it didn't fade or wash away.......hope it helps.
I have painted many a cork bulletin board to customize them for gifts. Very easy to do - I first spray painted them with a base color and then just used craft paint for what ever design I wanted. Looks great after and a very cheap project :-)
I spoke with one of our Design Editors who has done a project like this before. There is no need to prime the cork. It may soak some of the paint, so more coates will likely be required.
