Painting rooms the same colours again

We have rooms in our house that have been terra cotta and some olive green for about seven years. It is now time to re-paint, but I still like those colours. Are they still "in" and is it OK to paint the rooms the same colours yet again. Thx

If you don’t have any problem to repaint it in same/previous color then paint it because ultimately you need to stay there. Otherwise paint it in different color to get new and fresh look.

Thank you Mrs. Peacock, that is the exact reply I was looking for. I just needed to hear someone say it...other than me. I totally agree with your trend comment as well. They seem to come and go so quickly. I've seen people totally re-do their whole house, and by the time they are done the trend is "done" as well. Thanks again!

I do not see why you can not repaint in the same colours.  If this is what you like, then that is what you should have.  My whole house is painted in earth tone colours (greens/browns/shades of yellow and ivory) and will be repainted in the same colours as need be.  I am not one to be changing with the fad/fashion.  Once I find something I like, I keep it and there is nothing wrong with that.  Even though my house looks the same after 10 years (same furniture/rugs/curtains/paint/layout,etc), I still have people come in and ask if I hired someone to decorate or if I did it myself.

Go with what you like and don't worry about trends.  They go out of style and then you will be repainting every year because it is a fad and you start to not like it after awhile.
