Painting Sloped ceiling/wall

Hi, wondering if any decorating gurus out there could help me out, painting my bedroom.  It has a sloped wall/celing and I can't decide if the slanted portion be painted the same as the walls or the same as the ceiling.  The walls are painted a light smokey plum colour and currently the slope painted white like the ceiling however, I feel like it's pulling the ceiling down to the floor. Am I crazy? Is there a decorating "rule?"

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Wenders! I like the photo example dytecture shared. I also agree that painting walls and ceiling the same colour is a great solution so that the focus is on what's in the rooms, and not the walls themselves.

"[C]onsider painting the ceiling the same colour as the walls in rooms with an angled or arched ceiling. This will avoid making the ceiling a focal point in the room, and will let the architecture stand out." —http://houseandhome.com/design/ceiling-colour

Hi Wenders,

You could just paint the end walls an accent color, making the room seems longer, I would have the same color for the sloped part and the ceiling the saem like Mrx. Peacoock suggested.

I agree with Mrs. Peacock ... I would paint the sloped part the same colour as the walls, and the flat part the same colour as the ceiling. Have a look at what Ramsin Khachi did with this sloped bedroom wall:

Why not just paint all the walls and ceiling the same colour?  I think that would be your best solution.  If that is not what you want, then I would paint the sloped part at the wall and the flat part the ceiling colour.
