Painting Wood Sub Floors

I have an addition where my budget will not cover flooring yet. My walls will be SW Bagel (warm tan) and SW biscuit for the ceilings. Anyone have any ideas for a color for the floor? What kind of paint to use? I decorate in western with some southwestern so a rustic look would be fine. I also plan on putting a 1 ft. wide stipe about 6 " from the wall and maybe a little stenciling or decopauging there. I have large area rugs so that will help. The addition is an open area for the kitchen extention to include dining area and family room. I will sand before painting. We took up the carpet and redid all our hardwood floors ourselves and they are wonderful. Thanks in advance for any help

Yes I have big rugs that both have green in them, one in the living room and another under the dining table. Maybe I will do a green floor. The g-kids will be in and out and so will we. I was trying to find a color that would not show dirt and grass too bad. Thanks so much

space that big i think i would paint the floor one colour and use southwestern style rugs (or kilims might also work) to define each area...

My couch is blue/green and light sage with some black and a little pink. I like all the ideas. The tiles might be too much for me as I have 700 sq ft to cover. The brick red or cranberry is in a table runner am taking my colors from, especially the dining area. Thanks

doing faux terra cotta tiles - in keeping with the southwestern theme? or doing a solid colour with the stripe you are planning, and in the wide stripe you could stencil some Navaho/Pueblo-type designs? Not sure about colours because I don't know what colour your furnishings are.
