The shrub type Hibiscus or Rose of Sharon does well in part shade, it flowers about a week later than one grown in sun but same amount of flowers.

What about hydragena??? I always thought that hydragena would do well in partial shade but the local nursery grower talked me out of one. She said most varieties do better in sun.

I actually have Goat's Beard that does well in partial shade as well as some of my hydrangeas. Sedum is another one that I have in partial shade. Some of the plants that I have in full sun are also in partial shade but perform differently from one area to the other. I know that seems obvious but sometimes people tend to follow the rules, regarding 'exposure', so strictly that they lose sight of the other possibilities. For instance I have monks hood in partial shade and full sun, one is not as tall and the full sun are towering. Both produce beautifully when it comes to the flowers.
