How wide should your patio be 10 ft???

It will be much easier if you post a picture, then people can do a mock up for you, throwing numbers around doesn't help much. Perhaps you are looking for something like this below

Ten feet can be a bit tight. It depends on how the table is placed, and where traffic paths are. For ease of movement, there should be 3 feet of space for people to move past the table when others are sittiing at it, although you may not need this allowance on all sides of the table. If you have, say, a 36" table with allowances of 24" on each of four sides for when people are seated around it, the whole thing takes up 7x7 feet. So, if you need to walk around the table on ALL sides, if it's that size round or square, you need a space of 13x13 feet minimum. A 10x10 works if you butt up the table to one corner and have a kind of "L" space leftover for walking. Does that make sense?

Well that is thing I do not have a table and chairs yet ( I have not found the one) So is 10ft enough do you think??
I need help planning the back yard so I will take some pictures :D

enough space for the table and chairs without it being cramped...

Sorry, do you have a pic of the space you want to put a patio in? Its hard to say there is a set size it should be, its more about fitting the space or what youw ant to put on it.
