- But assures you a headache :D
Firsthome, I appreciate your comments, suggestions, advice etc, it must have been very traumatizing going through all those posts :D
I really like the picture you attached, I think that is definitely doable...I will take a look at the website. Also liked your other suggestion, I think that pretty much encorporates in everything everyone else has suggested as well as what I want. So...Now I have two ideas..HM!!!
Now that my vacation seems to be drawing to an abrupt end I will have to get started with something very quickly. I will start a new thread when that happens :D :D

Hopefully this thread can go to where all threads go to die now :D :D Don't want to be responsible for people not going to work just to get through it all....

I don't know if this is your taste but you could also do something like these over your mantle but maybe just in blues and greens and sandy colours to go with the beachy look I am sure you could paint something similar to these yourself.

Not sure if you are interested but here is the website of the gallery that carries these actual ones I beleive....

they are in the abstracts section pages 37-40.

after reading all of those posts, I am almost too tired out to type a response...but here goes anyway.

I love the white sofas! They look great in your room. They don't look wrinkly at all to me. I think you are achieving your relaxed beachy look.

I don't mind your fireplace at all. I think it can work well for the beachy look too. I like your idea of a mirror over the firplace instead of that photo(when I first saw that pic I wondered for a sec if it was an ode to the founder of Ikea :D. I think a mirror and then maybe a large lantern made of black or silver metal with glass sides on each end of your mantle might look good and add some presence and not get lost against the wall colour. Maybe also a few larger stones or shells scattered randomly around those items to fill up the mantle a bit more.

I haven't checked the Ikea site to see the coffee table you mentioned yet but I was thinking that some toss cusions of black and white ticking might look nice on you sofas to pull more black colour over to the sofas to tie in with your fireplace.

Hope I didn't repeat any ideas. I am having a hard time remembering what everyone else suggested. It is a great room so far!

OK, Lina, here we thought you were saying - in a cute way - that AAN is cuckoo, and you were just saying "hello". And Constance and all the other Quebecers are thinking we are the crazy ones! Lina, I love the way you write because I feel just like I'm hearing you speak. But obviously we have a few language barriers - that was a misunderstanding! LOL :)

I love you guys! Also being from Quebec, I knew what Lina meant from her very first post. It sure was entertaining reading your replies...

Cuckoo for us means crazy as an old bat!!! I think we'll keep this translation, it suits her better. I love your broken English, you sound very sweet. Don't change a thing. I come from a long line of broken English users, it's very charming.

I dont understand what Coucou mean for you, for me it like hello or something like this.
I write a very bad english.
Thank you Ann for the informations.

You are not permitted to bait - what are you talking about AAN?
Elise, I think we need to send someone with a camera over to do a lay-out - what's your address again? hehe

After some serious consideration, I have decided not to tell but will wait until the door opens.

Are you using Dreamer's dictionary again Elise? Now that yu mention it, we have never actually seen your home. So, perhaps you do not have a "traditional" abode. Perhaps a lair?

Whatever you said Dreamer, I am sure it was good.
Hey, guess what?

Elise. After all, it is better not to inspire envy in the unwashed masses, their bitter lot is hard enough for them to bear. Our propensity for seeking a "common" ground has allowed the interaction, in accordance with Mother's recommendation to engage in charitable works. Good for one's character, or at least the image of one's character.

....commoners!!! We have merely brought ourselves down to a more common level so as to better communicate with the masses. Now, I myself have never posted any pictures of my opulent abode so as not to distract from the quaint little homes you have allmade available for our members. I know Dreamer, Decor 8 and Luv2 feel the same.

The cubes are footstools from Ikea, called Pallbo. A great suggestion by Artsy...Not that I wouldn't have figured out to use them for that myself :D :D
Pay no attention to the others, mere commoners they are :D

Filthy spots! My thread has been hijacked. I might have to report!
Anyone seen the bewitching Dyn?
I need her to run me a bath!

Lina, I think you have named AAN quite well! Kind of sums her up nicely. Although she did pick some beautiful furniture - must have been a sane moment!

I think she must have been peeking through her windows!! She really should take the tie backs down.

....Dreamer will of course provide all of the big words to fill in the gaping holes in the stucture of this epic book!!

but I am hung up on the final chapter. How did Lina know so quickly that Aan was cuckoo when it took the rest of us two or three threads to figure it out?
