I have been pouring over the BM fan deck and piles of magazines and I'm still not much closer to finding a color plan..... The painter will be calling this week for the final picks, feeling desperado.
Open concept great room floor plan, family room has 96 inch windows flanking a fireplace and just bought window panels at Pier 1 (Ciudad panels in Garnet). Along the same wall in the kitchen eating area are patio doors with the same window panels but in 84 inch Sand color. Kitchen chair seats are covered with a red based crewel floral pattern - if that makes any sense... Living room furniture is currently navy leather (yuck) and will need replacing in the next year to more neutral fabric seating.
Here's what I know: The wall facing the fireplace and red drapes is where our sofa is and will be painted Raspberry Truffle 2080-10. I tend to like the coccoon warm feeling and am definitely drawn to historical colors, even though our home is not. Our basement was finished last year and painted Shelburne Buff HC-28 which I really like. I've done a search and it looks like these two colors have been used together successfully. Should I continue the whole house Shelburne Buff? I was thinking something a little darker as we have alot of sun and I don't really want it too yellow?
I also have a couple niches with ledges, do I get those painted out all the same? I also need a color for the entranceway, main bathroom (which has a blue countertop), our master bedroom and bath (i'd like to go dramatic here and was thinking Vintage Wine 2116-20 as an accent wall behind the bed), the dining room (currently houses toys and ancient upright piano in the hutch area), kitchen (white laminate cabinets) and one additional bedroom (currently the kids computer, may be a baby room - still wavering on having a 4th child). Now I've just become a blathering idiot - but I'm feeling completely overwhelmed and any input would be greatly appreciated. I know pictures help alot and will try to figure that out.
Thanks so much!
