this energetic little guy for me, so I can put him back outside (if he will ea my aphids) or not (if he will eat my roses!) .

I googled it and it is the caterpillar of a dagger moth( there are several) The caterpillars eat maple leaves and other hardwood foliage.
The moth is so dull compared to the colors of the caterpillar.
