Hi All,

We are in the process of renovating our driveway and front entrance and I am getting ideas for the softscape. I love pine trees because some of them have a very architectural shape. There are two trees in my neighbourhood that I am in love with but I have no idea what specie they are.

As you can see in the first picture the needles are very green and the branches are very spread out.

The second specie (show as a cluster of trees in the photograph) is more narrow, spindly and upright in shape.

Can someone please help me identify these two species?

Thanks! I did some research and I believe the tree in the first picture is a white pine.....a particularly beautiful one. They seem to vary in size, shape, colour, etc...and some are rattier looking than others.

Haven't figured out what the second species is. Anyone? Calling all you gardeners out of hibernation....

I'm not well-versed in the names of trees, but they are pretty! Anyone have any idea? Perhaps you should look for a book on tree species at the library?
