We are thinking of building a pondless waterfall in our front yard. We have a slope we need to landscape around, and thought this might be a way to deal with it. We don't want the extra work of a pond especially as we have tons of trees to fill it with leaves, and lots of wildlife to scoop out the fish. I have seen waterfalls that fall onto a bed of river rock that look great.
Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with pondless waterfalls or any advice to share?
Thank you!

Thanks for the photos. We hired a landscape architect to draw us up some plans, so I am looking forward to seeing them and getting started on the project.

Don't have one but I've seen them and I think they are a great idea especially since you wouldn't have to worry about fencing and all that like you would with a pond. The water just recirculates so you'd need a pump working all the time or whenever the waterfall was operational so they'd have to be electricity located nearby. The pump would have to be brought in for the colder months but I can't think of any other ongoing maintainance concerns like with a pond.
