My neighbour is taking down an over 30ft+ tall leafy tree of which 3/4 is on my property. He won't be disuaded, so can anybody suggest a fast growing tree which will leaf out nicely and provide some shade for my back yard. It will likely be planted in between a cedar hedge and fence. We reside in N.Vancouver but as former prairie dwellers arepartial to Poplars- would they work in this climate?
