OK

ok...we'll hold eachother hand and order them together...and whichever one of us doesn't order it..gets a swat in the back of the head from the other...i'll get my helmet ready cuz it will likely be me gettin' the swat :D
Exactly, me too. I think I just got their catalogue in the mail, but I haven't looked at it yet. It might be the year to cave and order one.
Dawn...i've seen those giant callas in the Vessey's catologue... i meant to order them and never got around to it...next time i'm really gonna order them...i know i say that every year..lol
Thanks! Not a lot is happening as a whole in my garden, but there was enough for a few snaps anyway. I love Calla Lilies too, but I don't have the best of luck with them. These ones are small, and so far so good. I really have to get some of those giant white ones that take up a big piece of space!
The pink flowers are Schizanthus. I love saying that BTW, "shi-ZAN-thuz"! (don't know if that's right but it's fun to say it like that!) It's a "Treasure Trove Rose Bicolor", with a tag from www.provenwinners.com. I read somewhere that it can dry out much like allysum, so I make sure to keep it watered well. It's a great one for pots and planters.
OMG those callas are to die for!!!....my favorite flower
Dawn, what is the name of the plant in the 4th picture? The pink and white one? All your flowers are beautiful.
and a few more............
A few of mine..........
they're beautiful!!!
don't they look like buttercups? I'll post another when they are more open
is just starting to blossom, it will be beautiful all through August...the plant must be 10 feet by 10 feet minimum -- never has any pests or diseases, and the seed heads are pretty right through the winter...You can just see the end of a garden bench at the right hand of the picture to give you an idea of just how big it is...

These are new plants I planted in June. A red Beebalm/Manarda and a white Bellflower. Everything else is either finished flowering or hopefully still to come!
not a big variety at my house but I love the colour of these...
And some from today....
Here are some pics from a few weeks ago....
boy the explorer and other hardy roses are my favourites. I've had very little luck as a gardener but when it comes to those roses they just are practically kill proof (and with Calgary's growing weather and winter chinooks combined with my skills that means anyone can get them going).
I just bought 2 Theresa Bugnets (sp?) on the dead pile at Rona for $2 and with a little water they are right back to life. Just have to get them in the ground now. they are a totally prickly bush but have the most aromatic bright pink/magenta roses. The one at my old house got to be about 6' tall and had at least 200 blooms all summer long and it was only about 4 years old.
I'd recommend the Explorers to anyone.
thanks Pearl...i bought them in my town at the Co-Op so i hope they are the right ones
I am attaching a link for you to have a look. Most of these HARDY roses like Cabot and Explorer are good for zone 3 and require no winter care.
I love the lillies, I bought a few as well. Janet lillies need to be in the ground preferably with 6 hrs. of sun a day. Put 2" of peat moss in the hole and wet it then the plant and fill it up with earth. It will be fine then. :)

the lilies have been there for 2 years now...the rose is new...so it will need to be replaced next spring...roses never make it here
lilies especially calla lilies are my favorite and i love iris' too
