Powder room help!!!

Hello all,

We are slowly working our way through the main floor of our house, and while I'm not going to post anything too revealing (I'm saving that for the dramatic before and after photo shoot) I need help with the main floor powder room. Currently, our main floor can be described as country casual with dark floors and white trims and beautiful blue/green and yellow paint colours. In our kitchen and back hall/entry, I've used quite a bit of bead  board, full wall of it in the kitchen and wainscoting in the back hall. Our powder room is located just inside the back door and I'm torn as to which way I should go with it. Its a tiny 16 square foot space so I thought it would be a perfect spot to do something daring. So...I went in search of the perfect wallpaper. I found this gorgeous silver paper with black and white birch trees. I LOVE this paper!! So much that I went out and bought a black vanity with a white top to go with it. Now I'm starting to doubt my choices. The paint colour in the back entry is Pale Honey by Behr. Is it going to be too crazy to have this modern dramatic powder room located soooooo very close to the traditional country-ish style I've got going on in the entry?? I've attached some poor quality pics taken with my phone. (Hubby is away and took the camera) Thoughts? Suggestions? Help??

Mel

The black and white birch trees would be great if you wallpaper just the back wall of your powder room behind the medicine cabinet.

Ooh, this is a tough decision! I think it's kind of fun when one room is in a really different style from the others — I can never make up my mind whether I want to be more traditional or more contemporary or somewhere in between. I can see how it'll be quite the jump from hallway to powder room, though... Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Mel: I say go for it.  It is very dramatic but would look awesome.  I posted some pictures under Decorating and Design - "Small Water Closet".  There are some bold wallpapers there although alot darker than yours.  Because it is a room all on its own, it will not clash with the rest of the decor (you probably keep the door closed to anyway).
