I think I have the right to say that QUEBEC SUCKS, seeing as I was born there and lived there for 30 years.
Argh!!!! My hubby just booked tickets to Luxembourg for Christmas. So now we need to get passports. And as it turns out, only people who were born in Quebec need to have a birth certificate that was issued after 1994 in order to apply for a passport. The only important piece of documentation that I can always find whenever I need it is my birth certificate. I lose and misplace everything, but this I keep in a place where I can always find it. And a fat lot of good it does me, 'cause it was issued in 1986, which makes it useless!!!! :hairpull:
So now before I can apply for a passport, I have to get a new birth certificate -- which I have to pay for, of course -- even though I have a (I thought) perfectly good one. Now, to get the certifcate, I need two documents to prove who I am. Like a Quebec health card. Which, being a resident of Ontario, I don't have. Or a Canadian passport. Which I can't get without a valid birth certificate :hairpull:
Why do things always have to be complicated?!?!?!
Oh yeah -- I'm pretty excited about the trip :clapping: Assuming I manage to get this headache sorted out!!
