I have not been here in years!!!!!
I want to refinish my solid oak dinning rooms suite, table, chairs and china cabinet.
It is currently a washed oak....you know the finish that was popular in the 90s
My partner loves it and I have been fighting to have it refinished for years.
Can not afford to have the entire set refinished pro.....way too much.
So started wondering if I could refinish it or do some type of finish on it ourselves??
Was thinking either a very dark brown, or a grey shade (grey is the prominate colour in my condo, walls, sofa ect), or else a white?
I am wanting to recover the chairs in a turquoise colour which will be the accent colour for the living and dining area.
A family member suggested doing some sort of antique rub on it in a grey just overtop of what is already there....I am wondering if that would work or last?
Wondering if there is some way to refinish it without staining it......I don't think my partner would go for painting it as he loves the wood so that is why I was thinking some sort of rub or glaze or staining?
