My husband has done this a million times for clients. If there only one row, it probably won't be too hard. Try sliding a spatula/putty knife behind one and pry it away. If your walls are plaster it will probably pop off. If the walls are drywall, it may take some drywall with it, and you'll have to fill with drywall compound and sand. If you are going to re-tile or wallpaper, you won't hve to be too particular. Try it in a less conspicuous area, say behind the toaster or
cookie jar.
