If you're still looking/trying new ideas.
Here is mine!
Place ribs plain (nothing on them at all) frozen in a lasagna dish with small amount of water and cover with foil. Bake @ 350 for 3 hrs. Remove from oven and slap on bbq add sauce, I cheet and use Diana chicken & rib sauce!
They will fall of the bone for sure!
Tks. lobotome..........I plan on making a lot of ribs this summer, with all the great new recipe's from this forum and a BIG welcome to the forums. Love your kitchen by the way! :applaud:
I parboil first, but not so much that they're falling off the bone at that point. Then I sprinkle the ribs with garlic powder and put them into the oven in a roasting pan, just to brown them a bit (so they don't look boiled... I'm sure you can skip that step but I'm weird)
I then prepare a sauce (no measurements because I do it by feel). In a bowl I put in ketchup, brown sugar (sometimes), molasses, dry mustard, cayenne, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper. Then a good dose of bottled hickory smoke (not too much because it can overpower) . If I feel like I don't have enough sauce and I'm too lazy to make another batch I will often put in some bottled BBQ sauce for good measure (not the sweet kind).
Pour it on top of the baking ribs, mix it all in, lid it tightly and continue baking on a low temp until they're ready.
I've also BBQ'ed this recipe, just boiled the ribs longer (til fully cooked), put them in the sauce until smothered, stuck them on the BBQ and basted with whatever sauce was left at the bottom of my bowl.
DH cooked his ribs on Friday and they are truly the best. Glad you liked them we have had them many times and never failed to get rave reviews.
Tks to all for the great rib recipe's We tried Jeep recipe and OMG the ribs really did fall apart and where out of this world, that is a keeper recipe for sure!We are looking :applaud: forward to trying the other rib recipe's from jenjen, pearl girl & dianne.........can't wait
According to Jason Parsons who has been on Cityline......Boil the ribs for about 2 - 3 hours. Then baste with your favourite BBQ sauce while on the BBQ.
DH makes the best ribs and they really fall of the bones,
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup favourtie BBQ sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
dash of soya sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
dash of vinegar to thin out just alittle
dash of cayenne depends on how hot you want them
Cooking secret oit bottom of roasting pan that has a tight fitting lid. Add ribs sprinkle generous amounts salt and pepper and garlic cloves and a few drops of water. Put lid on and cook for about 6 hours at the lowest temp your oven will go about 200F after 6 hours drain any fat in pan before adding sauce, cover with sauce and continue cooking for about 45 minutes turn half way through. Keep covered the whole time.
Now he will double this recipe if he has 2 slabs of ribs and only put them in a single layer as if you double them up the middle won't cook the same. They are fabulous and don't get stringy. You could put them on the BBQ for the very end but be careful as they will fall apart.
I use this recipe, but do them in the oven. I have never tried this on the Bbq.
2 lb Ribs, Parboiled
1 cup Apple Sauce
2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Simmer ribs until tender. Drain and remove from pot. Then add the next 8 ingredients to the same pot and bring to boil...for 2-3 min. Put ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil and pour sauce over evenly. Bake 45 min. flip ribs over and bake 30 min. more.
i boil them and add as many spices i can find in my spice cabinet...lots of onion and garlic in the water...then leave them IN the water for as long as i can to absorb the flavors then drown them in BBQ sauce and bake them in the oven or on the grill...nothing fancy...occasionally i'll just put them in the slowcooker and leave them all day pour the BBQ sauce over and walkaway...i put them in the water or slowcooker frozen too
