I've noticed from the majority of the posts that you all seem to prefer contemporary style. How many of you love romantic traditional design, like myself?

Thank you , I got it from the movie Somewhere in Time. Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves starred in it. Her name was Elise, and I just fell in love with it.

Love my house that is. I do like to re-paint whenever I get inspired, since I can't tell from a painted board what a colour will look like in a room. My family swear that the rooms are getting smaller.
Speaking of family, I wanted to tell you that your "user name" is very nice. My daughter's name is Annelise so "Elise" caught my attention.

is probably a partial description of my style. I am definitely not modern and not particularly contemperary although there are a few contemperary elements that are nice and clean looking. In the last H&H, Coby said that her personal style is "Martha" Nantucket and I would agree that I am in that category. We love to entertain in a relaxed, put-your-feet-up, if you feel like it, atmosphere. We have a lot of old oak and pine furniture, slip-covered sofas, and worn oriental carpets mixed with a bit of sisal and roman shades. Fiesta ware in the kitchen and dogs rule the house. But it works and is quite stylish with bold colours, and I do love floral pillows! Glad to hear that I am not the only "romantic" but I am a Taurus and earthy and elegant are the best description of my style.

Ruby on the East Coast.
