I called CYW to ask if they have samples of Purple Granite. It turns out that it's a new colour that's coming out this year. They can mix the colour, but they won't have any sample chips until around April 22nd. The colour was provided to some designers as a sort of test market -- which is why it's featured in Style At Home. The guy actually asked me if I heard about the colour from a magazine.
So, for anyone who likes the colour and is hoping to pick up a sample, you'll have to wait a month *Sigh* Or if you're brave, go out and buy a can of Purple Granite and paint a wall in your house and post pics so we can all see how it looks :D

it is shown in the Style at Home April 2007 issue on page 60....it is a really nice color.
Juliet...it wouldnt be as dark as the color you are talking about but its not really light either....and i wouldnt worry about a color you love becoming dated...if its only paint a some accessories, down the road you wont be out big bucks.....and no matter what color we pick i think eventually we will want a change or it will feel dated, so i say...if you love it, go for it! :)

I love purple and have been considering it as my theme throughout my house. There are so many shades and I was thinking of deep aubergine - almost black, right down to a very soft pale mauvish grey. What puts me off though, is then when something becomes the 'in' colour, it also becomes dated very quickly. What is this purple granite?
I've been hearing so much about this colour that now I can't wait to see it. Which month of Style at Home was it in? I usually buy this mag but I don't remember seeing it. The colour sounds awesome - so can't wait.
GO FOR IT.............. :confetti: :confetti:

Gee Smoodgie, if we only had a member who loves purple, for sure she'd be the perfect one to volunteer to do the test painting.
