shopping

I know I will be in the miniority but does anyone else love decorating and not really enjoy shopping? I don't reallly like shopping. I am trying to decide is it just b/c we have a limited budget and have to be very choosey or if it is b/c I worked retail my whole career up until staying home with my little one. Maybe working in a store for so many years has really spoiled shopping for me. Now that we finally have a house to decorate, I hardly feel like shopping for it. It seems like such a huge job to find things I really like.

Anyways, does anyone else feel like shopping is a real burden?

HAHAHAAAAA!!!! loved your post about getting undressed. My daughter works in a mall part time, and can't stand mall either!!! Says it's like being in a box with crazies all day.

I am glad I am not totally alone in my shopping aversion. I feared I would be "virtually" stoned for bringing up this topic...haha.

Catou...I agree I hate to try on clothes as well...your streetwalker reference really made me laugh...too funny!

I don't like to shop either. Especially in malls. I don't know if it's the lighting or the air, but after a few hours of shopping I'm exhausted. It's even worst if there's a crowd. I can't stand it when a group of people just stand there chatting in the middle of the aisle. And it seems that when I really need something, I can't find or afford it. Most of my fab finds were totally unexpected. I worked in a mall through my teen years too, could that be the cause of my shopping aversion? And don't get me started on clothes shopping. Can't find pants (I'm the size of a shrimp), and I hate to try on clothes. Getting dressed/undressed more times in a day than a lady who walks the streets is no fun for me.

you know I'm on the other side of this one. If I lived closer, I'd do all your shopping for you! I love spending other people's $$$, especially when I find them just what they wanted. :)

Shopping and burden together in 1 sentence? My brain does not compute that concept.

For me, I think it's because I never find what I am looking for when I go out to seek it, wallet prepared. When I am on an errand for something more necessary, however, THAT is when I find the stuff I'd love to get for the house.

It's also harder now that I have 2 kids. The first born is a girl, and I could drag her through any store. That changed when her little brother came along: the 2 of them fight a bit and it gets distracting, lol. Also the oldest wanders off further than the youngest is allowed, then I have to call him back, then I ask her perhaps unfairly "don't do that please because"................and so on!
