Does anyone have any of his memory blocks? What do you think of them? He has some great musical inspired ones that I would like to get to do a grouping over our music book stand. He has some beautiful floral ones with colour as well in the spring series. AND, for all of you who are collecting Paris inspired items (Artsy and Paula to name a couple...) there is a nice one T-41.

Here is the link to his website.

Just saw your colour block with memory blocks...it looks really great! It is a definitely a nice way of displaying your beautiful collection.

I would really like to start a collection of memory blocks as well. I had kind of been searching for something to collect. I would really like to have something that I cherish to pass down to my little one when she grows up. I have met lots of women who collect things like Cherished Teddies and Boyd's Bears and although they are cute and have nice workmanship, I could never imagine having a big display of these in my home. "To each his or her own" though, right?

Thanks for sharing your collection with all of us!

I forgot to mention we now buy them as gifts also- friends have loved them...there seems to be an appropriate one for each occasion. One friend keeps hers on her console table just laying there wth fresh flowers next to it...the perfect gift when you are stumped- lmited edition art- but not so big that it has to be hung on wall....

that's exactly what's starting to happen...4 were gifts from my brother. the first 5 were from DH- each one with a note of what it symbolized to him about me. Let's just say thank god blue mascara was long since gone. Poor guy felt bad for making me cry...LOL. The nice part is they have a fantastic colour print out where you can check off which ones you have- so people can purchase what you don't. And there seems to be a couple of themes going....the ones with the colour pics were launched a couple of years ago- there are more to that series..oh no I feel the urge to splurge. Thanks for the compliments! I wish I can remember who else on here had them- her collection put this one to shame.

So far I've had more positive comments than negative. DH really liked it too, which surprised me LOL.

Decorgirl- last I checked they varied between $65.00-$75.00. They may have very well gone up in price...it's been awhile since I've checked it out. I avoid going to the store because then I'll want to buy more...I need a driveway & a fence this spring:)

closer up & I don't know if it's just my screen but it appears much more mauve than it is..it's closer to a cafe au lait ( maybe a bit deeper)

as you requested...here are mine:)
While we're at it- do you like the colour of the colour block? Although, I don't think the colour photographed true...

It is not my fault you picked today to befuddle yourself with paint fumes!

How is that painting going, anyway? I am completely envious because I still do not have shelves. The weather is improving and the relentless hockey games are thwarting my plans.

I get the feeling I am doing this project on my own, with the help of the lumber cutting boys at Home Depot! Do you know which Home Depot has the cutest lumber cutting boys - not that I find young men particularly fascinating, I am just feeling a little pouty.

but don't follow her lead too closely firsthomegirl, because her insults bounce right off me. People lie to AND insult me all the time. I am not easily discouraged. In fact, that sort of thing really eggs me on.

In the mean time, have you met my alter ego, Guido? Guido is 6'4", 250 lbs of closet decorator, with a charming unibrow, which he hasn't the good sense to pluck off.

Yes, I should definitely make up a pretend version of myself....that would actually be more interesting.

thanks for understanding....again!

or sleight of hand, Artsy. Nice attempt. I can multitask.

and though firsthomegirl is ostensibly discreet, all that means is she is perfectly capable of disguising her own motives.

Artsy, you never know....maybe Dreamer and I are in cahoots....spending all our spare time trying to unveil your true identity... ...hmmmmmm

Glad to hear painting is progressing. We are all anxiously awaiting the big reveal.

but I assure you that it is a Sid Dickens.

The fact I know the acronym is of no assistance to you, Artsy! Thanks for the help, firsthomegirl.

Such a tiny little city we live in.

Do you know the meaning of this acronym Artsy? I bet you do!

You are going to have Dreamer hot on your trail...haha! Wow, you know Sid Dickens-- that's pretty neat. Lucky you! You must have a life connected to the art world somehow....I have my guesses too but since I know a few of us like to remain mysterious I won't venture any guesses.

How's the furniture painting going??

just need DH's computer for that - so will take a few hours, sorry...I've always gotten them as gifts. Each one has significance so far, but with so many available I would have no problem collecting them for their beauty alone.

A colour block around them sounds great. Could you post a pic sometime? Do you get them as gifts or do you order them from his website?

I think they are so beautiful. Something that you can pass down to other family members later on and they will appreciate.

only 9- I just colour blocked them this week...someone on here can't remember who has a fantastic collection... love them!

He also has ones of just alphabet letters and numbers too. I am thinking of getting our family name initail for somewhere in our house.

These blocks would be a good collection for someone to start--it would be an easy gift for someone to buy each year. I might hint to my hubby that one of these would be a nice Christmas gift every year.
