I have a 2 year old silver lace vine that has yet to bloom.
Location - west wall of fence facing east.
Morning & some late afternoon sun but mainly dappled shade.
I did not cut it back this fall - as I thought that a spring pruning may encourage blooms.
Any advice?

I have had a silver lace plant for 5-6years. The first couple of years I did not get much for blooms. It is situated on the south side of the house and gets a fair amount of direct sunlight which apparently is the preference of this plant. I was told by other advid gardeners that this plant does not like alot of attention. Ignore it and it will grow and bloom better for you. The last pruning I did of my Silver lace was 2 springs ago and I cut it right back to the main stems. The following August it bloomed the best it ever had. I do find that most of the blossoms are up high where it gets the best sunlight. I have also been told that pruning should take place in the spring for this particular plant. Hope this helps. Good luck!
We have had a silverlace for probably 11 years now. It's on a south east fence. I wouldn't say that we prune the vine, but we have to cut it back all the time - it just grows so fast. We don't get a huge amount of blooms, but enough - we are in an older neighbourhood and it's quite shady with loads of huge old trees around. If we don't cut it back, it would totally cover our garden. The blooms are all that exciting - just small white flowers - but it's pretty.
