I had to laugh when I found this at the garden center today. With all our talk about slugs, I had to pick it up and have a look. My daughter was along and she thought it was cute, so I bought it for her.
I've only had a skim so far, as I have to wait until she's done with it. So far I did notice it mentions the hair method, the beer method, as well as a few others. The tossing method is called "Sending them into orbit", lol.

There's a method that makes fine use of the peel after you've eaten your half grapefruit. You make it into a house, and place it in the garden. After a time you peek underneath to find all the slugs that have stumbled across a yummy treat.
Don't know if it works of course, but it will be fun to make the 'house' with the kids.
what a hoot. We will need all the info we can get once the slimmy creatures appear again. I bet there are some inexpensive deterents for slugs in that book. Post some when you can.:)
