I think this thread has gone past the point of Decorating and Design and indeed it's usefulness to the original question.

Yes, the smile, that should take care of the cold-hearted comments she's made lately to others :D :D :D

Wow!! Who's been peeing in your Cheerios lately?! Maybe you should switch over to toast :D

Thanks obella & Foxxy :)

smoodgie and others are always good for a harmless chuckle. I have never known smoodgie to be any other way. Now, members that take offense should read the post on the light side, as that si how it was meant I am sure.
Ann ? nice to see you jump in once in awhile

On a second reading, I notice this message is not really very friendly. :(

From the sounds of it - you'd help them to their van with the sofa!

Should I be afraid?

It is a pretty common name. Will someone come to my home looking for my MIL's sofa? If they call in advance I will leave it on the curb for them! :D

Yes it was me looking for a designer, and someone suggested the woman from Red Heron, so I carefully checked out the website -- right at the same time that the picture of the pendant light was posted here. Somehow in my mind they got melded together. Then -- last time I was in Toronto I had seen a beautiful Fortuny chandelier at Constantine (way way toooooo expensive -- about $3000). But somehow in my mind the two experiences became one -- and, lo and behold-- in my mind I was at the Red Heron store and saw the pendant lamp from the picture at Red Heron in person!!! Go figure! It must have been all the chocolate and lounging over xmas that has turned my memory to mush. Soon I'll be claiming that I was at woodstock or there when JFK got shot, or when Martin Luther King did his "I had a dream" speech!

information overload....I found after a few high speed Christmas shopping trips I would look for my car in a space I had parked the day before or would go back to a store for some beautiful towels I had seen (with the clearest mental image) only to realize wrong mall.

that is toooooooo funny...did you have a memory lapse....you thought you were at the said store, but realized you werent....maybe you were there....wasnt it you that was looking for a designer? or am i having memory lapses

Oh really -- Red Heron Essentials sells Galbraith & Paul light fixtures?? Well, now, that IS an interesting coincidence.....

Oops. My mistake. I've never been to Red Heron Essentials. But I was checking out their website and they have a picture of one on it. It is in the "vignettes" section and you have to scroll down. It is not a pendant light -- it is a table lamp -- but the shade looks like the one that was posted. I also did see one in person when I was in Toronto -- it might have been at Constantine on Yonge street.

I am almost positive I saw those at Red Heron essentials. I know for sure that I saw them in Toronto when I was there last.

I worked with a girl several years ago and that was her surname, maiden name if my memory serves me correctly.. was wandering what the chances would be of it actually being HER? Any chance of a medical connection Galbraith?

obella, those patterned drum pendants are from a company called Galbraith & Paul. They're located in Pittsburgh, but maybe you can order the pendants through their website. Here's the URL:

Hmmmm, wonder if the member here named Galbraith has any connection to them..... or maybe it's just an interesting coincidence :)
