My day lillies are invested with snails, not slugs, the little guys with the hard shells. I was out early this morning and picked 30 off of one plant. Needless to say it is taking alot out of the plants, does anyone know how to get rid of them other than picking them off and disposing of them?????

I had really good results by just removing them as you are, both slugs and snails. After a good evening watering or rain, my son and I went out with tongs amd together we collected at least 300 in 3 sessions. Now I find the population is dramatically down.
Slug and snail bait. I tried everything from putting beer in shallow saucers so they would drown to picking them off - nothing worked except the poison. This year I have found a few, nothing like the numbers I had last year.
