Thanks Mel. We have been at this house for 2 years, and there was nothing here last spring, no grass, not one plant or shrub. Only that one little white tree, which we could barely see from the weeds around it! I worked my b#tt off last year, lol. This June I want to start the front yard.
Cat, your garden is beautiful!! The perfect woodland garden...I'm in love with it all..especailly the edging around your Hostas...AWESOME!!!
As for the flower that's blooming..I think I have the same plant..but the flowers are yellow instead of blue..a Yellow Archangel??? I can't remember what the hell I planted.. :biglol: :biglol:
And the other side is what I planted this spring. it is all still new plants and still growing.
And here is my fav. corner of the garden, just look at the trees, tons of shade.
And my hostas, astibles and sweet woodruff. Still looking for ferns to go in here.
ok, ok! I found a flower today! It is in my ground cover, I don't know the name :p
we wanna see the plants Cat!!! :D
I still have no plants flowering! I have the plants though :D Can't wait for them to open!
 OK you all have such beautiful flowers etc. I feel like a bald child next to kid with a full set of hair !
My back yard is empty I mean not empty and my front yard has a tree and a bunch of ugly little bushes in front ( which are going this week some time)
Great job ladies!!!! :applaud:
Wow, thanks for reminding me, jenjen -- I have to plant my calla bulbs!!

calla lily and fruiting mulberry tree
oooooo thanks for the tip luvto...i'll have to pick some up and try them out
Jen, what I forgot to tell you is that I do have columbines growing in gravel against my garage....I never water them and they are flowering like crazy every spring and I get people admiring them all the time going to the neighbourhood park.....
Jen, did you know that you can grow all your garden in scree (gravel) and you can have the most beautiful garden without even a drop of water? I have seen such a garden, in fact, it's a nursery ( Country Squire Perennial Gardens) ....Derry Road, just past Guelph Line at number 2601. Their phone number is 905 875-3199
Oh, poor you, homebody!! How are your hands feeling now??
Why do we need insects?!?! Well, OK, I know why -- but why can't they just do their thing and leave us humans alone?!
I don't wanna hear about bees, the little b@st@rds
good eye Smoodgie...LOL
I can see the bee in the pic on the right!!! Nice purplel flowers :)
Lupins-had to dance around a bee for these ones.
Sure we're interested!!!! Pics, please!! :D
ok I have no flowers yet! I have green foliage, if anyone is interested :D
jenjen & Dawn, nice flowers!! :)
Gardening is a lot of work and it takes a lot of time to keep it looking good. Which is why the older, retired couples in our neighbourhood have the nicest lawns and gardens, I think!!
DUH!!!...ok here's the pic of what i'm trying to achieve....i'm having a yucky day...bear with me
I don't have a lot of photos yet, but here's one that turned out nicely.
ok here's a couple of my flowers and what i'm trying to do to my sorry excuse for a garden...basically i have these landscaping stones that are kinda useless to me cuz i don't have the top stone to fnish them off with...so i tried turning them the other way so the rough decorative edge faces up and i'm using them to edge may so-called garden...the joys of living in gravel country everywhere i dig i hit river rock  :hairpull: ...yea i know it's stll a huge mess out there...oh and not to mention that our Deere isn't working so it's starting to look like a jungle out there
Looks like a flowering Crab Jen.
does anyone know what kind of tree this is?...they had tons of them at the Delawana Inn where i went for the long weekend and i fell in love with it
They are gorgeous eh smoodg?? I have 4 tulips that come back year after year..that were planted by the idiots (did i say that :o ) the lived here before us. But i am FOR SURE ordering some from Vessey's this year..online..so i don't have to go to the mail.. Did you look at the Juice 'n Honey mix?? I love those.
And you are not getting your hands on my hunk...well...not any time soon.
