Hi,
After almost 2 years in this house, we finally got the kids' bedrooms painted and decorated.
Bedroom 1 - used to be dd's room but we moved ds into this room when we bought his furniture. The theme is plane, train and automobile. I am still looking for a large metal tin plane, buying 3 pictures to hang along the long side of the bed, and a few other finishing touches. But it's done to a large extend.
Bedroom 2 - used to be the guest bedroom, but we moved her out of Bedroom 1 and into this bedroom. There are still a few other things to do too, like mirror, shelves, better lamp shades for the chandelier, etc. But I'm so please with the bedding and picture frames, I just can't wait to show off, lol.
What do you think? Anything that I need to change?
Tam

Thanks for the caution note! The window is open on the other side (not the side under the bed) and we have a bar across one side of the window to prevent the screen from being pull open and expose the screenless and glass-less hole, kwim?
Yes I saw lots of palnes and trains at Homesense.
I love those pictures they were actually at the Superstore 3 years ago for 19.99
I saw at them at Leons for 29.99 each last weekend.
Sweet rooms!!
PS Make sure your son cannot open the window though as it is close to the bed .There have been kids fall out alot of window that way in US. :)
WOW! Great job!!!!
Those are wonder rooms,a job well done, and you've given us some inspirations for DD's room in the new house. :applaud:
What great kids rooms! I love that you've decorated them so that the kids will get a lot of mileage out of them! The furnishings are sophisticated enough to last them well into their teens yet the themes are child-friendly enough to keep them fun. Really great job!
:applaud: :applaud: :applaud: awesome job....and the pics above your DD's bed looks stunning! very well done rooms...lucky children

Love both of the rooms...........as for the plane theme....I bought my boys some of the model airplane kits (at michaels) and they put them together and then we hung them from the ceiling with fishing line......above their beds.....it looks neat and didn't cost very much...and the kids had fun putting them together...just a thought........good job...................
Another WOW from me! I love what you've done with both rooms. Where did you get the stars from? Very nice.

I tried and tried and tried but that's pretty much the only way the bed can do in that room and still have some walking/playing space for him. I'm getting use to the headboard blocking the window. But I know exactly what you mean ;-)
I actually bought the train off ebay from Timeless Elements. I thought it was a unique decor piece for his room. Well, I walked into a Homesense on Saturday and there are tons of these metal tin planes, motocycles, cars, fire trucks, the exact train, etc. 2 months ago, there was nothing to be found, locally!
Ummm, Dollarama, LOL. Serious, $1 a piece. I was thinking of getting the purple shades from Bombay Kids. Picture attached.
I have these three ordered from allposters.com. I asked around here and feel comfortable enough to order the posters from there. I'll frame them black as seen in the attached pictures.
Wow! Your dks' rooms look amazing! The colours are fun, and the decor will grow with them. You should be proud!
I like the shades on the chandelier! Where did you get them?
Have you checked out www.allposters.com? Go to the "vintage art & style section," and click on the "vintage transportation" section. There are great pictures of planes, trains, and automobiles for your ds' room.
Anyhow, great job -I'd love to see the updates!

Wow!! Fabulous rooms!! So colourful and fun :)
Have you tried looking on Ebay for plane & train items?? You might find just what you're looking for.
One suggestion -- is there any other wall in your son's room that the bed can go on?? The top corner of the headboard blocks the window a bit, which may or may not be a problem for you.
Both rooms look fantastic. I love the colours in your dd's room. Have you looked on e-Bay for the plane? You can get amazing things there. I could also picture one of those old CN or CP train posters with the scenes from across Canada in your son's room.
