DH saw a robin last Monday, and since, we have seen several, so spring really is on its way.
:confetti: :bliss:
Today we went out and raked all the leaves off our beds. We cover them in leaves in the fall, keeps our plants' roots all toasty and warm! We have LOTS of things growing, and lots of our stuff has self-seeded. I am sooooo happy, I actually have dirty hands !!!!!! :D
We are moving in about 6 weeks, and we are going to take some of our "babies" with us, and a few really special plants (my rhododendron, amonst others). We are also having a garage sale, so I will pot some of the babies and sell/give them away, too.
sorry, all you guys who live further north (most of you!) but I couldn't help gloating - hang in there, your turn will come.

I worked outside from 11 to 5;30 today...filled 11 recycle bags .....the flower beds are ready except the ground is still frozen in places....there is buds on the shrubs and the hostas are peeking through. The temp. is going to 15 tomorrow so I guess I'll clean windows and get the summer clothes out (hopefully those capris still fit this year)...DH is going golfing south this week as our courses are not open yet ,just the driving ranges are open.I did see a robin today:)
I also received my application form for OAS ,I didn't know if I should laugh or cry:eek:
Spongeg, those pictures are absolutely beautiful....The blossomed trees are soooo.....lovely.:)
We're just nroth of you DBD (red deer) and we had the dump of snow yesterday too:( Our snow is mostly gone though now. I was outside today pruning my hydrangeas and noticed that some of my bushes have buds coming already! yay! :bliss: At least the snow on the ground is gone now.
Sigh... finally 90% of our snow is gone (I have never seen Calgary with so much snow and so few Chinooks). Yesterday we had a dump again but it's gone now. It would be nice if some of the big drifts that are in my yard would finally go away.
I'm busy getting my house sorted and ready to put on the market because i really want to be somewhere that spring typcially hits before June. I wish I had done it last year so I could be enjoying things like those flowers coming up right now. I am so jealous of those of you who are having spring right now. Some nice fresh green must be heaven.
wow, the second and last pictures are sooooo cool!
Our daffodils are now blooming, have been for about a week now, maybe I'll post a pic; everything in the garden is just grow, grow, growing ! Columbine is quite the little bush, the ornamental grasses are about 4 inches high, the buds on the lilac and the clematis are starting to look like leaves, the bleeding heart is in its "celery" phase . . . . .More progress shows each and every day
cherry blossoms are in full bloom and falling here now - magnolias are almost out and the leaves are coming out :)
and skunk cabbage is everywhere - it smells but it looks pretty

It's snowing here right now, even though the weather was alright this morning.
The temp.here today was +10...DH &I sat on the balcony with shorts on & the sun sure felt good on the body.We also vaccumed & washed the cars...The robins should be arriving any day soon.:bliss:
you can not believe how jealous I am. We still have at least 3 feet of snow and that is on the SOUTH side of our house!
Is it that time already, to clear the flower beds? I better get moving, lol.
We are also in the process of selling, and our closing date to move to the new place is May.
I am also taking a lot of my plants with, also my rhodo, lol. My ground is still frozen, but there will be time to get it all out, before we move. I am glad I will see my bulbs come up for the last time, and the crocuses I planted in the lawn.
Taking plants with me, will save me tons this summer, because I wont have to buy any new stuff, lol
Good luck with the move and repotting!
